IEPAssist ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy and your child's information. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

What We Collect

• Email address — For account creation and authentication only
• State of residence — To provide state-specific IEP guidance
• Language preference — To display content in your preferred language
• Uploaded IEP documents — Temporarily stored (30 days) to provide analysis

What We Do NOT Collect

• Your child's full name (anonymous profiles are default)
• Social Security numbers
• Medical records
• School or district information
• Location data
• Device identifiers for tracking

How We Use Your Data

• To provide IEP analysis and educational guidance
• To personalize responses to your state's regulations
• To manage your subscription

Data Storage & Security

• All data stored in AWS us-east-1 (Virginia)
• Documents encrypted with customer-managed keys (AWS KMS)
• No data shared with third parties — ever
• No data used for AI model training

Data Retention

• Uploaded IEP documents: Automatically deleted after 30 days
• Chat sessions: Automatically deleted after 7 days
• Account data: Retained until you delete your account

Your Rights

• Delete My Data: Instantly and irreversibly delete all your data from Settings
• Data Portability: Download your data at any time
• Opt Out: You can stop using the app at any time
